Sister Shivani – a Rajyoga Meditation Teacher, an inspirational speaker and a person with spiritual knowledge belonging to the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Mount Abu was not the same all her life. From being an engineer to becoming a motivational speaker this is the journey of Sister Shivani.
Born on March 19, 1972, in a middle-class family, in Pune, Maharashtra, she was a calm and kind child. After schooling, she decided to be an engineer and completed her Electronics Engineering degree from Pune University in 1994 (as a gold medalist). She then served as a lecturer in Bharti Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune for two years. From an early age, Sister Shivani used to visit Brahma Kumaris with her parents. But she was never too much interested in the sessions. As she grew older she started refusing her parents to go to these sessions with them but at the age of 23, she decided to attend the sessions once in two weeks. Later on she married Vishal Verma, as per Hindu rituals and culture & started working as the back-end production staff of Brahmakumari television presentations, where senior teachers would record the lectures.
In 2007, there was a shortage of teachers and she was asked to answer the queries of viewers. This led to a television program launched in 2007, titled Awakening with Brahma Kumaris, in which she was interviewed by BK Kanu Priya. And, this resulted in the transformation of Shivani Verma into Sister Shivani or Brahma Kumari Shivani. Her TV interviews by actor Suresh Oberoi was later converted into a book named Happiness Unlimited: Awakening With Brahma Kumaris. Her books and videos are very popular among people.
Sister Shivani conducts various motivational courses on stress-free lifestyle, self-realization, exploring your inner peace, etc. and inspires hundreds of professionals, youth, and even children. She helps people in overcoming depression, low self-esteem, mental stress and other mental issues. She has influenced a lot of people worldwide and travels worldwide to educate them about various social issues. She also supports “Organ Donation” and other social causes. She is a believer of the sanctity of marriage and is happy with her husband. Together the couple owns a software business in Gurugram.
